ROBERT E. ROBOTTI is managing director and president of the firm. Prior to forming Robotti & Company, Incorporated in 1983, he was a vice president and shareholder of Gabelli & Company, Inc. Before that, he was associated with Paine Webber Inc. and Blyth, Eastman, Dillon. He worked in public accounting before coming to Wall Street and is a C.P.A. Bob holds a B.S. from Bucknell University and an M.B.A. in Accounting from Pace University. Some of Bob's areas of coverage include Special Situations, Oil & Gas Producers, Oil Service, and Property-Casualty Insurance. Bob is a Managing Member of Ravenswood Management Company, L.L.C., which serves as the General Partner of The Ravenswood Investment Company, L.P., Ravenswood II, L.P. and Ravenswood Investments III, L.P. Bob currently serves on the Board of Directors of Panhandle Royalty Company, a diversified mineral company located in Oklahoma City and on the Board of Directors of Bishop Capital Corporation, a Wyoming based company that engages in the development and sale of real estate properties. Bob was recently elected to the Board of Directors of Pulse Data Inc., a seismic data licensing business located in Calgary. Previously, Bob was a member of the Securities and Exchange Commission's Advisory Committee on Smaller Public Companies, established to examine the impact of Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other aspects of the federal securities law.
JOSEPH E. REILLY is a vice president at Robotti & Company. Joe has been with the firm since inception . He is also a general partner of Negundo Company, a family investment partnership. He holds a B.A. from the University of Akron.
ERWIN I. MEVORAH Erwin is the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of Robotti & Company, Inc. and is responsible for the oversight of the financial, legal, HR, and operational aspects of the firm; including the financial oversight of Robotti & Company, LLC. Erwin’s career has focused on middle market companies where he has been heavily involved in the finance and administrative functions. Prior to joining Robotti & Company, Erwin was the CFO of CoActive Marketing Group, a publicly traded marketing services company. During the period from 1995-2003, Erwin was the CFO at two different venture\private equity backed media companies and prior to that spent seven years at The Gabelli Group. Erwin started his career at Coopers & Lybrand where he was employed for four years and had a client base that had a particular emphasis on middle market entrepreneurial type companies. Erwin is a CPA and holds a BBA and MBA from Pace University.
JEFFREY JACOBOWITZ is a Managing Director with Robotti & Company, focusing on research and institutional sales. Jeff is also Managing Partner of Simcoe Partners, L.P. an investment partnership formed to invest primarily in undervalued small capitalization companies. Jeff worked as an analyst for Private Capital Management from 1999 through 2002 and as an analyst for Robotti & Company from 1996 through 1999. Prior to joining Robotti & Company in 1996, Jeff worked as a senior accountant at Deloitte & Touche LLP. Jeff holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland (UMBC) and is a Certified Public Accountant.
ISAAC SCHWARTZ is an analyst and portfolio manager for the firm. He co-manages the Robotti Global Fund LLC, which is mandated globally and invests primarily in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. Previously, Isaac worked for Schiff's Insurance Observer, an investigative journal that focuses on the U.S. property-casualty insurance industry. Isaac holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
JEFFREY P. WIEGAND is an analyst at Robotti & Company. Prior to joining the firm in 1991, he spent five years with Carr Securities. Before coming to Wall Street, he practiced law in New York City. Jeff has an undergraduate degree from Harvard College, a Master's degree from the University of Michigan and a JD from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Some of Jeff's areas of coverage include Special Situations, Bankruptcy/ Distressed Securities, Oil & Gas Producers, Oil & Gas Producers (Canadian) and Oil Services.
TERENCE J. BARRY is an institutional sales representative for the firm. Before joining Robotti & Company in 2003, Terry spent nine of his eleven years on Wall Street heading up the accredited investor and institutional sales efforts for Wall Street Access. Terry holds a B.A. in Finance and Economics from Fordham University.
KARIN B. CHADWICK is the manager of Robotti & Company Advisors,LLC. Prior to joining the firm in early 1996, Karin spent four years with the Gap, Inc. in successive store management positions. She holds a B.B.A. in International Business & Finance from Ohio University and current NASD Registrations include series 7, 55, 63, and 65.
MARIO D. CIBELLI is a portfolio manager and institutional salesman for Robotti & Company. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Gabelli & Company, Inc. and Prudential Securities Inc. Mario graduated from Binghamton University with a B.S. degree in Business Management. Some of Mario's areas of coverage include Special Situations, Spin-offs, Lodging/Travel Services and Money Managers. He is also the general partner of Marathon Partners LP.
MIKE DeROP is a registered representative for retail and institutional accounts. Mike served as a trader on Robotti & Company's trading desk for over 3 years. Prior to joining the firm in early 2001, Mike worked in the account transfer department at TD Waterhouse. Mike holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
DAVID V. McQUEENEY is a trader for Robotti & Company. Prior to joining the firm, David worked as a trader/market maker for Spear, Leeds & Kellogg Capital Markets. Before that, he worked as the manager of equity & index options trading at Wall Street Access and was an account representative at National Discount Brokers as a start-up firm. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and current licenses include Series 4, 7, 55, and 63.
BRIAN VEST is a trader at Robotti & Company. Before joining the firm, Brian was an equity trader at First New York Securities. Brian has a B.S. in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University and current licenses include Series 7, 55, and 63.
ALAN W. WEBER is a portfolio manager at Robotti & Company. After having spent two years with Robotti & Company from 1993 to 1995, Alan was an analyst at Prescott Investors. Prior to 1993, Alan was an analyst with American Securities, Fund America and Bear Stearns over a period of ten years. Alan holds an M.B.A. from St. John's University and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Queens College. Alan is the General Partner of JB Capital.
KENNETH M. WASIAK is a trader, operations manager & provides retail services for the firm. Before joining Robotti & Company in 1997, Ken worked with several other retail stockbrokers including Tweedy Browne and M.S. Farrell. In addition Ken has the following NASD Registrations
Series 7, 24, 55, 63, and 65.
